Joe Devlin Roselle Arts and Culture Notable Four

In 1953 Joe moved to Roselle after taking a job for the Tourtelot Co., a distributor of electrical heating elements. From sales representative to executive vice president, he took over as president and CEO in 1980.

During that time, Joe was also a village trustee in Roselle for 32 years (1969-1973 and 1981-2009) and mayor for eight (1973-1981). He helped bring Lake Michigan water to DuPage County and oversaw a number of infrastructure improvements in the Chicagoland suburbs.

Joe Devlin was also the financial officer for the American Legion and the administrator for the Roselle Historical Foundation, which operates the Roselle History Museum.

Joe passed away in October 2019. He was married to Barbara Devlin and had 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thank you to the friends and family who provided this great history about Joe.
